GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 570825
Register doesn't repaint when scrolling
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:17:32 UTC
I have a 500k file, moderately complex but just created today. I've imported a bunch of QIF files. This particular account has about 200 transactions in it. When I scroll up and/or down, parts of the screen remain gray-backed. It's not reliably reproducible, but happens very frequently.
Max, you're running on Windows, I presume? If so, then this is a dupe of bug 502649. Gnucash is in the habit of not changing titles on bugs, which certainly helps to spawn dupes! Note that 502649 has been around for over a year and hasn't seen any activity for six months. Don't expect to see it fixed soon. Windows is definitely a second-class citizen when it comes to Gnucash. P.S. If any C# and/or WPF developers are reading this, get in touch with me.
Can you reproduce this with 2.2.9 (just released)? It includes a newer version of the Gtk+ library.
Yes, it repros on 2.2.9. This bug has already survived multiple releases and Gtk+ updates. The register is custom to Gnucash, so it is unlikely to see magical improvement from a Gtk+ release.
Perhaps the problem is in another library, such as libgnomecanvas. In any case, the GnuCash register doesn't contain any Windows-specific code. I'll add this information to bug 502649 and close this bug as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 502649 ***
If anyone reading this is willing/able to compile from trunk, please see bug 502469 and try out r18024 or higher to see if it fixes this. Please post any responses to bug 502649.
