GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 568720
Move that is not allowed done by AI
Last modified: 2009-01-25 00:57:44 UTC
Please describe the problem: When you make a double step of a pawn, and there is an enemy pawn next to yours, the enemy can attack sideways destroying your pawn, but not ending up where it used to be. Steps to reproduce: Here is the *.pgn [Event "Human versus GNU Chess"] [Site "?"] [Date "2009.01.15"] [Round "?"] [White "White"] [Black "GNU Chess"] [Result "*"] [BlackAI "GNU Chess"] [BlackLevel "easy"] 1. Nf3 Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 3. e4 dxe4 4. Ne5 Qd4 5. f4 exf3 * Actual results: The enemy hits a pawn without ending up on the position of the pawn. Expected results: The enemy does a legal move. Does this happen every time? It doesn't take every opertunity to cheat :P Other information:
Actually, this is a legal move. It's called "En passant". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/En_passant

Ok, sorry didn't know that rule :x Maybe there should be a feature where you can click a 'What?' button and it tells you what sort of move it was. :)
