Description Willie Walker 2009-01-21 21:25:10 UTC
There's a whole class of objects that Orca doesn't present -- objects in the DESCRIBED_BY relation. These are objects that are very similar to objects in the LABELED_BY relation set: they are generally already painted on the screen (unlike a tooltip) and are used to basically label an object. The only difference is that their information might be a little less important than a label and should probably be presented later in the description of an object.

We are late in the 2.28 release cycle and I want to focus on "high impact"/"low risk" items that also fall within the release team's restrictions in place. Regretfully, this bug doesn't fit well within those constraints and we'll review it for the 2.29 release cycle.

I might be interested in taking this one; I would need some examples of where these other labels get generated and some suggested applications that could be used for demonstration and testing.

Concrete examples off the top of my head, I'm afraid I don't have any. I'll have to look around.

But my guess would be ARIA. And also at one point the Eclipse devs were thinking about doing this.
