GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 568409
Can't empty Trash on IMAP
Last modified: 2009-03-10 18:24:50 UTC
I'm using Evo 2.24.3 with an IMAP account. For some time (say after 2.24, be it linked or not), I'm not able to empty my trash. This is really a problem since my account is now full and I can see no workaround. What happens is that if I choose "Empty" (via the context menu), or "Clean" (approx translation) from the folder menu, messages disappear for 2 min, and then reappear. It looks like Evo believes they are gone until it checks for new mail: then, it says it's filtering incoming messages. When it has done that, all messages reappear in the Trash. Attached is the log (with CAMEL_DEBUG=all) of a session in which I just click on "Empty" after all starting work is done. Then I wait for messages to reappear and I exit. I've replaced every personal information and removed all repeated messages (all my box was listed there!). Hope this can help, it took me some time to clean. Just ask if you need a detail that I may have removed (normally I only have removed paragraphs that were exactly the same except for the message informations they carried). I'm not even able to remove them using a webmail or Thunderbird since they are in a hidden folder. Sometime ago I managed to move them to a standard folder, and then remove them from my webmail, but this has stopped working: now they are copied into the trash when I try that! :-p Good luck!

I'll look at this issue, after 550414. Sorry for the delay
No problem, I'd be happy if somebody considers my problem at some point. I'm so used to bugs being forgotten for ever that I can wait! ;-)
I've just checked that problem with 2.25.92, and I was able to empty the trash. So it looks like it's been fixed.
