GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 568264
screensaver activates while using fullscreen applications
Last modified: 2009-08-21 04:20:12 UTC
Please describe the problem: When playing a game fullscreen game such as frozen-bubbles with compiz enabled, the game will exit fullscreen and fallback into a window. If gnome-screensaver is configured to start after one minute of inactivity, the problem will happens exactly one minute after you started the game, no matter if you are using the mouse/keyboard during that minute. Disabling gnome-screensaver is a workaround. Disabling compiz is a workaround. Steps to reproduce: 1. Have compiz enabled (compiz --replace) 2. Set gnome-screensaver to start after one minute of inactivity 3. Start a fullscreen game like frozen-bubbles (which can go fullscreen if you type "f" while the game is running). 4. Play a game during more than a minute. Actual results: the game exit fullscreen and get back into a window. Expected results: The game should stay fullscreen and gnome-screensaver should never start, because the computer is still used. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: More details on ubuntu LP bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/32457
