Which applet failed? My best guess is that this happened in the deskguide applet. Is that correct?
From an email from the original bug author: Yes, sorry. I thought that the failure was ID'd in the automatic report generated by the automatic bug report software. It was the deskguide applet. It just "dropped out", best term I can come up with. It does this irregularly. No rhyme or reason. I cannot make it fail, I just have to wait and report the sequence of events just prior to the applet crash. I wish I could be more help. You may get this twice. I sent it to you directly and as a reply to the bugzilla.org. Let me know if I can supply more info. I said b4 I like the applet. I keep 9 screens up all the time. So I use it to navigate a lot. Take care. Jon Williams MICP Ps, the box is home built. If that makes a difference. No Dell or such parts, just parts out of shows and stores.
Moving to gnome-core, where deskguide lives.

Can you (the original reporter) try the latest version of gnome-core? This is where the deskguide applet lives now.
