GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 567161
GnuCash crashes when closing invoice tab
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:15:43 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. View or Edit any invoice 2. Click on the close (X) button on the ribbon 3. GnuCash immediately crashes Stack trace: Sorry, I'm using Windoze. Other information: If I open two or more invoices, only the last closing crashes GnuCash, but the tabs reappear after a restart. So in effect I can continue to use GnuCash keeping all my Invoice tabs open but that wouldn't be convenient.
having this problem too on windows. sometimes it crashes even when you have one invoice tab opened which you are trying to close. I did it by: 1. search an invoice dialogue 2. open any bill 3. hit the close button (without making the main gnucash window active) having problems providing the crash report that gets sent to MS when apps crash as it is in XML format (unless you want that file)
+1 I experience this issue with the following parameters: GNU Cash 2.2.8 Win XP home SP2 32bits, .NET 1.1 (French) and .NET 2.0 (French) (with all MS KB updates) Antivirus (we never know): BitDefender2009 I noticed so far one way to keep the program running when closing an invoice (to be challenged in the long run...). 1. Save the invoice and close every tabs (reports, accounts...) BUT the active invoice and the main tab (chart of accounts). 2. Close the invoice with the tab menu button. NB: DOES NOT WORK IF TWO OR MORE INVOICES HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN OPENED AT THE SAME TIME. Situations individually tested and crashed (for all cases the chart of accounts' tab is opened in addition to the invoice we want to close) - Another invoice is opened - One or more accounts are opened - Several reports are opened
