GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 567152
multiple selection of files using shift-click fails but instead opens a sibling hierarchy
Last modified: 2009-03-02 17:00:57 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have directory structure and I'm using the file manager with sidepanel Tree, view list, hidden files Show. In a child that has sibling and both sibling have children, selecting multiple files or folders fails and instead the shift-click opens one of the sibling Steps to reproduce: 1. open places; home folder 2. click to select a folder, click to select some other folder 3. shift-click on another folder to select multiple 4. repeat 2 and 3 until the shift-click opens some other folder instead of selecting items Actual results: more or less often some sibling subdirectory will open so a delete files or other files action will act upon incorrect files/folders if the operator is not careful or falls into muscle-memory Expected results: multiple items are selected Does this happen every time? yes Other information: unmounted everything (windows, gvfs) so that Tree shows only Home Folder and File System
