Description Zachary Spector 2009-01-08 21:43:27 UTC
I'm at a university with a campus-wide wireless network. As lots of people are logging in at once, it takes a while to get a connection. Consequently, half the time I use network-manager to connect, it will time out before the connection is complete. I need to make it wait longer before timing out.

What driver? Are any of the APs not broadcasting their SSID? I just debugged some of this the other day, and I'm pretty sure that there are supplicant bugs that are causing the supplicant to spend too much time scanning or otherwise just trying to *find* the AP to connect to. A longer connection timeout isn't the answer here, the answer is to fix the supplicant and driver bugs that are causing the connection to take so long in the first place.
