Description inox 2009-01-05 21:12:52 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I manipulate files on the remote computer, copy and paste operations should not result in transferring any file-data to my computer. It is not only unnecessary, but also obviously slows the operation down.

Steps to reproduce:
1. When logged to GNOME. Go to Places->Connect to Server...->Choose service type: SSH
2. Login to any account. Cut something big (photo) from one folder and paste into another.
3. Observe incoming/outgoing traffic on your "network-connected" device. Measure time.

Actual results:
Files are copied successfully, but in the way I do not like.

Expected results:
Remote-remote operations should not result in high local-remote traffic. It should work just as if I were connected to SSH terminal.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Other information:
The way WinSCP does it is great.
