Weird. I tested Launchpad OpenID from my local site: no problem. But it seems l10n.gnome.org has difficulty to talk with launchpad.net. gnomeweb@progress:~$ wget https://launchpad.net/~paroz --20:24:03-- https://launchpad.net/~paroz => `~paroz' Resolving launchpad.net... 91.189.90.211 Connecting to launchpad.net|91.189.90.211|:443... failed: Connection timed out. It is probably due to some setup between Canonical servers and firewalls.
Ah, yeah.. happened with these servers more often. The Canonical sysadmins are a bit paranoid. I'll see what the contact address is (not a GNOME sysadmin issue, although we obviously are the contact person).
Olav, did you succeed in contacting some Canonical sysadmin?
Olav: any news?
I also could not login with either a LP or a blogger.com OpenID. After that, when resorting to create a new regular account, it was immediately disabled, supposedly because I used the same email address (the one I am reporting here from) as I have in LP?
I have the same problem with another OpenID provider. http://www.cau.cat/blog/ which delegates to: http://openid.claimid.com/toniher I created the account, but now I cannot login.
The problem also exists for myopenid.com ID's. I get the following error message: "Unknown OpenID http://walter.l.myopenid.com/ is an unknown OpenID" Although I use that same ID to log into other sites with no problem.

I was wrong; PEBKAC.
A friendly ping, any news on this?
I'm still having the same issue with myopenid.com IDs. I'll see if I can dig into this some more.
Christer, this bug is specific to Launchpad Open IDs (title updated), caused by progress being unable to talk to other Canonical servers. If you have problem with other Open ID providers, please open another bug against damned-lies product.
I just verified with the Canonical sysadmins that the connectivity works (no firewalling). It appears it is on the GNOME side, which also explains why other OpenID providers are failing as well. I think we need to look more closely on our OpenID authentication and see where it may be failing. logs? debug output? etc.
I just succeeded in logging with my own Launchpad OpenID account. Automagically resolved :-)
There are still problems with this? For me, it returns: OpenID failed Unknown user
Claude, OpenID is not working anymore for me, is it again a l10n.g.o issue or is there something else going on?
OpenID support on l10n.gnome.org is limited. It only works when you have set up an OpenID at account creation time. So you still have to go through an account creation process, and the OpenID cannot be edited afterwards. The initial issue is fixed, however.
