GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 565496
AqBanking crashes when creating a new user under VISTA
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:14:51 UTC
Please describe the problem: When trying to establish a HBCI connection from GNUCASH to my bank AcBanking crashes. This happened also to other users (e.g. http://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-user/2008-November/027291.html) Steps to reproduce: 1. GNUCASH -> Werkzeuge -> Onlinebanking Einrichtung -> ... 2. Users -> new -> HBCI 3a. Import chipcard 3b. create keyfile -> enter suitable data Actual results: 3a. nothing 3b. program crashes with error message (see below) Expected results: connect my GNUCASH account to my bank Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: I use Microsoft Vista SP1. Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: APPCRASH Anwendungsname: qt3-wizard.exe Anwendungsversion: 0.0.0.0 Anwendungszeitstempel: 4910d2d2 Fehlermodulname: ntdll.dll Fehlermodulversion: 6.0.6001.18000 Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 4791a7a6 Ausnahmecode: c0000005 Ausnahmeoffset: 000659c3 Betriebsystemversion: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Gebietsschema-ID: 1031 Zusatzinformation 1: 2ffb Zusatzinformation 2: 610ab700be97d1db8ed1c807a1ac71c7 Zusatzinformation 3: 90e7 Zusatzinformation 4: 78d7e5617693b9d0b498e1f6340da371
This does not repro on all inputs. Christian, could you add the inputs that you used? (You should be able to expurgate any sensitive information -- so long as it still crashes qt3-wizard.exe) I repro'd on Gnucash 2.2.8, Windows Vista SP1 x64, US English, as follows: 1. Start qt3-wizard 2. Switch to Users tab 3. Click New button 4. Enter something in every text field on the "General" and "OFX" tabs, but leave "Broker Id" blank. 5. OK out of the program. *crash* Does not crash if you fill in something in "Broker Id" (even a space).
Note: This was with the aqofxconnect backend. Also, the crash deletes an existing user if you opened it using the "Edit" button.
This bug does not seem to be worth investigating, per se, since Gnucash is currently stuck on AQBanking 2.x. Instead: 1. AQBanking 3 support needs to be completed and integrated into trunk. 2. The Windows build scripts need to be updated for AQBanking 3. This bug may or may not repro with the current version of AQBanking.

Still a problem with any 2.3.x version of gnucash?
It's worse, actually. Doesn't even get that far. On clicking "Start Aqbanking wizard," get error: "The external program 'AqBanking Setup Wizard' has not been found." You can run qt3-wizard.exe manually, as before. However, after selecting a Backend (aqhbci or aqofxconnect) and clicking "Ok," nothing happens. No dialog box asking for user information.
The "has not been found" issue is bug 586122 The "nothing happens" issue is yet another bug, which should be filed separately. Can you re-try this several times, please? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 586122 ***
