Description Oded Arbel 2008-12-21 19:48:38 UTC
On previous versions of evolution (before 2.24), when a user used the command "move to folder", "copy to folder" or "new folder" while a folder was selected in the folder list, then the "select folder" dialog that was opened had some folder preselected:
* with "move to folder" and "copy to folder" the previous folder moved-to/copied-to was preselected
* with "new folder" the currently selected folder in the folder list was preselected.

As of Evolution 2.24, when a "select folder" dialog opens it does not have any folder preselected. As a result the following user experiences were degraded:
* "move to folder"/"copy to folder": previously move/copy to the same folder as the last operation was a single key, while move/copy to a folder in the same account was slightly more difficult. Currently move/copy to any folder requires browsing the entire folder tree.
* "create folder": previously create was a single key operation if the user preselected the parent folder before selecting "create new folder". Currently any create action requires browsing the entire folder tree.

I suggest to revert the previous behavior where the "Select folder" dialog has a folder pre-selected when entering the dialog.

Another side-effect of bug #552583. Already fixed in trunk.

Huh. Thanks for the catch - I searched for this problem on bugzilla, but I've never would have found that bug.

This would also explains why Evo can't seem to remember my SMTP password anymore. I'm assuming this will be delivered in 2.24.3 ?

Actually there's a 2.24.2.1 release scheduled for Monday to address these issues.
