GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 565094
Gstream does'nt play low samplerate wav
Last modified: 2009-01-23 08:40:03 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have problem for listening low quality WAV files (8bit mono 16000Hz). In Rhythmbox, it just pass to next file. This appends in Intrepid Ibex, and I tried on 4 different computers. Previous versions of Ubuntu was able to play the files. I can open files with VLC, Mplayer, aplay but not with Rhythmbox or Totem, and no totem-preview-audio sound. Steps to reproduce: 1. open a WAV RIFF 8bit mono 16000Hz with Rhythmbox or Totem 2. 3. Actual results: Players just skip to the next file and does not play Expected results: Hear the sound of the wav file Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Bug first reported on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306839 , they asked for reporting here... Please read more (with attached sounds) on this page...
