GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 565049
Application
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:14:14 UTC
Please describe the problem: After installing the latest gnucash version, the application repeatedly and quickly opens and closes several dosboxes (the header reads "gconfd...") and after a prolonged period the application starts with an error message stating that some components may not have been installed correctly. On the first attempt, the details read "failed to connect client to server's list". After de-installing, reboot of the system an re-installing gnucash, the application behaved in the same way as before - only the details of the error message changed: "Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for information. (Details - 2: IOR file 'C:\DOKUME~1\MNH\LOKALE~1\Temp\gconfd-MNH/lock/ior' not opened successfully, no gconfd located: No such file or directory)" I looked up the specified file location for further information, but there was no such file. There was'nt even a "gconfd-MNH" subdirectory. Steps to reproduce: 1. Installing the latest version of gnucash (2.2.8 setup.exe) 2. running the application Actual results: see problem description Expected results: successful application startup Does this happen every time? affirmative Other information: I'm not a developer. Just a normal everyday user. Therefore, I would really appreciate it if you could send me a short description how to fix this bug to my E-mail address: majnoon@gmx.de Thank you so much in advance.
