GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 564802
GPG encryption
Last modified: 2012-05-21 09:42:24 UTC
It would be nice if one could encrypt the data using GPG. Please note that it is not a duplicate of bug #545357.
You mean bug #545347? What are you speaking about if it is not a dup? Could you detail a bit more please?
1. Yes. Sorry - a type 2. bug #545347 is about encryption using OTR not gpg keys. I'm not sure in which level gpg enc. should be implemented (empathy or telepathy).
Read in GNOME RoadMap: Seahorse Encryption Keys Manager * Possibly a Pidgin/Telepathy encryption plugin * Digitally signed documents in Evince It seems that this bug is already filled. But I couldn't find the original.
That will need support from the telepathy spec. A spec for end to end encryption is planned, but that's not a priority atm I think. However, feel free to propose one.
GPG encryption should be done at the XMPP level (XEP-0027). Closing this bug as NOTGNOME as it should eventually be part of telepathy-gabble, not Empathy.

Is there any gabble report for this?
