Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This bug report isn't very useful because it doesn't describe the bug well. If you have time and can still reproduce the bug, please read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html and add a more useful description to this bug.

There is a whole thread on it here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=974536

While it was "solved" in the forum by taking a hatchet to the index files it re-occurs frequently and is a nuisance.

If one selects a folder eg the "Deleted items" or the "Junk" or any other and then tries to expunge. The status line at the bottom of the page first shows the folder being stored, twice. Then shows a warning triangle and "Error while Expunging folder". The items to be expunged remain in the folder.

If Evolution is closed, the index files deleted, and Evolution re-started, the indices are re-built and the supposedly expunged items have then disappeared.
But this is fixing the car with gaffer tape not welding the chassis.
