It would be great if you could see the release year of the album and be able to sort them by it (or better by the complete release date if known)

In the svn trunk version you can right-click on the header and select "Year". You can then click on the "Year" header to sort.

Discard my previous comment, I misinterpreted the bug's description.

This bug is a duplicate of #561493 (show release year) and #544758 (sort by release date).
