Description Rodrigo Moya 2008-12-08 15:39:42 UTC
We (Timo and myself) wrote a patch for finger print auth in gnome-screensaver using libfprint. I plan to change this patch to use the fprintd D-Bus service, but Bastien told me to include the old patch for comments

Patch using libfprint
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2008-12-08 16:14:42 UTC
Note that as Matthias mentioned, not using PAM for authentication is a security risk (already logged in users would be able to log in even though their accounts were disabled, and all that sort of thing).
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2011-01-15 14:13:06 UTC
Renaming the bug to match how we'd like to see this implemented.
Comment 5 Bastien Nocera 2014-08-19 21:00:24 UTC
gnome-screensaver is obsolete, and this particular bug has been fixed in
gnome-shell itself, with the PAM authentication being done in gdm (which supports multi-stack).
