gcalctool crashes when x^y key hit in middle of large input

Steps to reproduce: 1. set into scientific mode 2. calculate 2^32 or some other big number 3. click cursor in the result field, so the cursor is in the middle of the output 4. hit x^y key. app will freeze Stack trace: no stack trace, app freezes and goes to 100% load on one core Other information:
Can you reproduce this using version 5.24? Maybe this issue have been fixed.
