GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 563223
Rename more then one file with same name but other extensions
Last modified: 2010-05-02 14:44:00 UTC
I working with some files that are many files with same name but different file extensions. In Windows Vista that i used to one month ago i could rename all files with same name and the extensions was not changed. In Ubuntu i dont can to this, then its change the file extensions to, this is one features i whant to Nautilus.
I want this too. Rickard's description is a bit confusing though. Use case: I have: myBoringProject.txt myBoringProject.png myBoringProject.memberlist Suddenly, i think "hmm this is actually a cool project", lets rename all files! So i select the files and press F2 (or right-click and choose "rename"). A nice window comes up, asking me for the new name (without extension). I write "myCoolProject" and presses "OK". My files are now named: myCoolProject.txt myCoolProject.png myCoolProject.memberlist
