Description Wouter Bolsterlee (uws) 2008-12-02 11:26:05 UTC
I don't understand whty a monospace font is used for the subject in the vertical mail view. It's really ugly.

Duplicate of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411576

and there is a solution too - create a key /apps/evolution/mail/display/vertical_view_fonts with value “true” using gconf-editor and after restart Evolution will use same font for both lines in Vertical View

Still an unfortunate solution. The key should at least be enabled by default, if not done away with entirely. I've yet to hear an argument in favor of the monospace fonts in vertical view. Seems to be another case of "the UI sucks, add an option!" instead of "the UI sucks, fix it!".

Look, I am unhappy with this solution too, and I would be more than happy to have it fixed. But I cannot force gnome developers to do what I want, got an option which works and I am happy with it. There are other, more important bugs to fix in Evolution (i.e. vertical panels don't save their positions in latest release), there are more annoying “features” which should be fixed (ie. respecting time format in mail preview - in Evolution you can select either 12 or 24 hour clock, then in Mailer you get only 12 hour clock despite your selection or locale settings).
