Description Penelope Fudd 2008-12-01 18:12:06 UTC
I've set up an ssh tunnel from home to work through about three firewalls. As a result, I'm connecting using a local port (localhost:0). Good news: it works. Bad news: it's slow. I think the problem is that, because it's a local port, vinagre is using raw encoding (slow), but I can't be sure. There's no way to check it or change it, short of using wireshark.

In addition, I'm connecting to a MacOS X desktop, and vinagre works while regular vncviewer doesn't, due to a slight protocol tweak by Apple.
