Description Alberto Caporro 2008-11-24 11:15:50 UTC
Hello. I'm using a standard Ubuntu 8.10 setup (Evolution 2.24.1, Gnome 2.24); the problem is that the Google AddressBook component is ignoring proxy settings.

In the Network Preferences panel I choose a Manual Proxy Configuration and it seems that it is used by all other Evolution components (e.g. Google Calendar, RSS plugin, ecc.).

When I try to access my Google addressbook, I get the following error:

---
Error loading address book.

We were unable to open this address book. This either means you have entered an incorrect URI, or the server is unreachable.

Detailed error: Other error
---

I've checked with tcpdump, the traffic goes directly to Google rather than to the proxy; the problem is present both in standard and SSL connection.

Regards.
Alberto
