Description brucevannorman 2008-11-22 18:56:41 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0 (FC9) is rejected by the Exchange server because it does not present the userid for validation - instead it presents localhost.localdomain.
---
Package <pptpconfig-20060821-1.fc9.noarch> from SourceForge does work correctly but requires knowledge of the root password.

Steps to reproduce:
- Applet parameters are identical to those used by pptpconfig.

Actual results:
Client side message is "... VPN service quit unexpectedly"

Expected results:
The VPN server would ask me for my password

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
The VPN aka Exchange Server rejects the invalid user id of localhost.localdomain.
- I have the advantage of being able to access the VPN server session monitor during the process.

What svn revision of the PPTP plugin are you using? Do you know if the username required here is the same as the 'user' command line option of pppd?
Comment 2 Dan Williams 2008-11-24 05:04:42 UTC
Please try NetworkManager-pptp svn r4332, and reopen if that revision does not fix the problem. Thanks!
