Description Fabricio Godoy 2008-11-06 00:46:09 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I can't adjust system time using the clock-applet.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Click right on clock-applet
2. Choose Preferences
3. Click Time Configuration
4. Click Set System Time
5. A passwork is asked
6. Try root password, don't work
7. Try your password

Actual results:
clock-applet dialogs are closed without any feedback

Expected results:
Open a dialog to adjust system time.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.
On second try the password is not asked and the last clock-applet dialog is closed.

Other information:
Fedora 9 (2.6.26.6-79.fc9.x86_64)
I can adjust system time using "system-config-time"

Sorry for the late reply. Can you try again, and tell me what the text in the dialog asking for password says? (it should ask for the admin password or your password). Also, does it still doesn't work?
Comment 2 Fabricio Godoy 2009-01-08 22:52:50 UTC
Actually I have installed Fedora 10 (2.6.27.9-159.fc10.x86_64) and It still doesn't work.
It asks for my password.
Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2009-01-08 23:08:50 UTC
And entering your password doesn't work? I would think it's an issue on your specific configuration, but it's hard to know. Would be nice to have input from some fedora people :/
Comment 4 Fabricio Godoy 2009-01-08 23:35:27 UTC
When I enter my password clock-applet dialogs are closed.
Thanks, I'll report this bug there and link to this page.

> When I enter my password clock-applet dialogs are closed.

That's expected -- the time should change too.
Comment 6 Fabricio Godoy 2009-01-08 23:44:37 UTC
But if dialog is closed I can't adjust the time.
Comment 7 Vincent Untz 2009-01-08 23:47:25 UTC
Fabricio: you should change the time before in the "Time Settings" dialog, before clicking the "Set System Time..." button that will ask for the password.

Yes, worked well.
I think that this button should be something as "Apply system time" with ok icon, maybe avoid mistakes.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
