GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 559433
Half of each emblem gets left on screen or erased during directory browsing
Last modified: 2010-04-17 11:18:52 UTC
Please describe the problem: When entering or leaving a directory, if there are emblems on screen, the rightmost half of each emblem remains visible on the next screen. Also, when moving up a directory, only the leftmost half of each emblem will then be displayed. The corrupted emblems are only corrected when, by browsing, they are overwritten by another icon on screen. This only occurs when the icon caption is narrower than the icon itself (including emblem). Steps to reproduce: 1. set icon view to 150% 2. turn off all icon captions 3. enter an empty directory which itself has an emblem Actual results: The rightmost half of the original directory's emblem remains on screen Expected results: There should be no graphical artifacts on screen Does this happen every time? Yes, and with every icon set I have installed (including the default Ubuntu) Other information: This was also happening in the previous version of Nautilus but as a new release was imminent, I thought I'd wait and see if it was fixed. I can provide screenshots if that will help.
I can't reproduce this bug here...Please attach a screenshot; is this the same as described in bug 343540?
Created attachment 122206 [details] Screenshot as requested I'm going to attach a few screenshots as requested
Created attachment 122207 [details] as requested
Created attachment 122208 [details] as requested hopefully these three will illustrate the problem. They show three layers of my filesystem affected by the issue
This does appear similar to bug #343540. There isn't a great deal of info in that report to make a good comparison. It does strike me as odd that it hasn't come up as a bug report before although perhaps most people have date modified/accessed as an icon caption and so do not encounter the problem.
Yes, that should be fixed in master now. Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 343540 ***
