GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 558969
Cannot select correct paper size in gimp using GTK+
Last modified: 2008-12-03 14:09:34 UTC
I am having trouble printing in gimp using GTK, but if I print with gutenprint, there is no problem. I run linux using slackware 12.1 with a KDE desktop -- KDE-3.5.9, and I am using gimp-2.6.2, with GTK+-2.14.4. As necessary, I have updated or added libraries to run gimp-2.6.2. To print a photo, I need to set the print size in gimp (image > page size), and there is no problem with this. Then I need to adjust page setup (file > page setup) Here is where things get interesting. I'll set 'page setup' for my color printer, HP 5650, and I will select Photo 4x6 paper, and click OK. If I go back to 'page setup,' my HP 5650 printer is no longer selected, and the page size will shrink from 4x6 to 2.12x1.41. The next time I open the page size goes to 0.75x0.50, and so on. The 'page size' dialog continues to show photo 4x6 paper. If I click the print button, the printer may print, but the output is not correct. The printer will print correctly IF I select the paper size in CUPS. If the paper size in cups is 8.5 x 11, a 8.5x11 print is perfect. If I select 4x6 in cups , and IF I select my Custom Size of 4x6, the printing is perfect with a sheet of 4x6 paper. Although I am using Gimp, this problem seems to be occurring in GTK+. I've read the GTK buzilla page, and find that a similar problem has been reported with Windows. In my case, the problem is occurring with linux. Thanks. John.
Hi, this is a duplicate of the bug #559914. I tested Gimp with fixed upstream version and it behaves correctly now. Thank you for reporting this bug Marek *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 559914 ***
