I really think Empathy needs something to block contacts, MSN network is full of spammers and I keep getting spam messages every 30 minutes or so.

I remember some IM clients have an option such as "Only allow my contacts to chat with me" or something like that, to avoid these situations.

Thanks for your report; this feature has already been requested in bug 551911 (Make possible to block messages from people not in buddy list).
