Description dkap 2008-10-30 14:45:55 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Putting up the properties for the windows switcher on :0.1 brings up (and modifies) the properties on the windows switcher on :0.0. It allows for only two work-spaces, and nothing I seem to be able to do changes this. This behaviour is unlike that of the panel clock, which mostly works (the weather is not pulled up on :0.1, whereas it seems to be able to be pulled up on :0.0) or the choice of panel icons or tools.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create two displays in xorg.conf
2. log in
3. attempt to modify/control the windows switcher properties from the :0.1 screen.

Actual results:
It changes the wrong windows switcher properties, the properties for :0.0, and has no effect on the properties of :0:1

Expected results:
The ability to increase (or decrease, as the case may be) the desktops available and the controls to switch between the desktops.

Does this happen every time?
Yes, several different accounts were created such that I could test various hypothesis. They all failed.

Other information:
Ubuntu Hardy 8.04, April 2008 version. Gnome 2.22.1

By windows switcher you mean workspace switcher?

See also bug #480710. I think it's the same issue.

And if you expect to change the number of workspaces for the two screens separately, see also bug #441658 and #552744.
