GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 558009
Automatic session save for "Session Saver" plugin
Last modified: 2019-03-23 20:48:06 UTC
A useful option in "Session Saver" plugin would be to automatically save currently open files when we close gedit, and then find it again in the next gedit opening. It would be made also by automatically restore previous session.
> when we close gedit... Actually the state should be saved periodically, or it should hook the actions that add/remove tabs and save when those actions occur. If you're going to bother to automatically save state, it might as well be done correctly such that it is resilient to application and system crashes.
The session saver has been dropped: http://git.gnome.org/browse/gedit-plugins/commit/?id=7abf46cf9c6e3f12798e813ffeac28e3594167f0
