Create a folder on the desktop and delete it, now go to the trash and restore it. The restored folder has a "readonly" emblem. Check the file preferences, everything looks fine there.

Confirming. If you look in the context menu, the file still has a "restore" item! The lock (and the restore item) will go away if you refresh the desktop. Probably this means that some properties on the NautilusFile are not updated after the file has been moved for the restore operation.
Infact, this does not happen when restoring files that needs to be thumbnailed after restore, because the new thumbnail icon presumably refreshes the attributes.

This apparently has been fixed in trunk.
