Description steven 2008-10-24 12:59:47 UTC
I work with evolution 2 since a few months now.
It's on a suse 11.0 box under gnome.
Today I tried to delete (about 4000) messages from the trashcan.

The result is that a lot of messages (the last 300 or so) in my inbox
have a correct title in the list, but as you open them it's content is replaced by some content, jus deleted, from the trashcan!

A real catastrophy.
Is there any way I could get my messages back ?

Thanks,
Steven

Distribution: openSUSE 11.0 (i586)

Sounds like bug 213072.
If you disable "View -> Hide deleted messages" you will see that it's just a mismatch between message list pane and preview pane.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2008-10-24 13:23:19 UTC
By the way, is openSUSE really shipping 2.22.1 instead of 2.22.3.1?
If so, Novell should really learn to ship versions that include less bugs.

No, that is not correct. Let me give you an example :
the list pane writes for a message :

From To subject Reception date
jill@revimmo.com steven@revimmo.com fiches tout-bien Yesterday 16:47

And if I open the message it gives me this :

De: sales@citycontracts.co.uk <sales@citycontracts.co.uk>
À: steven <steven@la-france.net>
Sujet: Volvo S80 £219 - VW Tiguan £229 - A Class £139 - Range Rover Specials & More!

So the listpane is not attached to the correct message anymore !
The message is one that was "emptied" from my trashcan.

It's fixed in 2.22.3.1 and 2.24, but not in for example 2.22.1.
