GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 556828
Showing "from unknown" (for album title) in UI is unnecessary
Last modified: 2018-05-24 13:43:01 UTC
When showing a summary of what's currently playing (either in the main UI or tooltip on the tray icon), if a track has no album it shows: "Foo Track by Bar Artist from Unknown" This sounds a bit silly/wrong (not least because "Unknown" could hypothetically be the name of an album) and should be simplified to just: "Foo Track by Bar Artist" N.B. that missing album is not necessarily an error; could just be a single.

No, this is not a duplicate of that bug. Bug 328971 is about changing the way empty tags are stored in the database, this is about how things are displayed.
