What is the actual focus of the bug?

The downstream bug report refers to having the view options of Nautilus in the file chooser. I find that somewhat insufficient.

For example, there is bug 315207 about file preview, and the suggestion of different view modes came up.

So please come up with a more concrete use case than 'what Nautilus has'.

it is that nautilus should have the view options of Nautilus in the
