Description Alexis Foerster 2008-10-16 08:59:36 UTC
Hello,

I encouter a problem when I'm using a video player based on GStreamer with a video using the MPEG-4 H.264 codec in "field" mode. If the video uses the "frame" mode, the video displays correctly. But if the videos uses the "field" mode, only a few part of the video is displayed at top of the screen (approximately 15-20% of the video). I think the problem comes from the gst-ffmpeg codec because this video is displayed on VLC which uses its own codecs.

Thanks,

Alexis FOERSTER.

Do you have a sample movie to test with? Also VLC uses ffmpeg to decode h264, just like gstreamer.

Thanks for your help.

Currently, I have a video sample of 1.7Go and I'm waiting to have a litte one from my users. I don't try to make a part of it personaly because it may possible that I change the codec format. When I will have it, I will upload it on my website and write a new post here.

Thanks.

The screenshots of the video file in different video players :

VLC : http://dl.free.fr/oJCTVQrEs
Totem : http://dl.free.fr/rPkkzCT6I
MyPersonalVideoPlayer (using C++, Qt and GStreamer) : http://dl.free.fr/pPA0miQVy

As you can see, the video is displayed correctly on VLC but not on the others.
