Description Gerald 2008-10-15 19:32:35 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If I get an HTML-formatted e-mail that has a link in it, and the link has an ampersand in it, and I click to open link in browser, any "&" (without the quotes) in the URL is replaced by "&".

Steps to reproduce:
1. Send yourself an e-mail with a link that has an ampersand in it.
2. Right-click on the link to open it in browser.

Actual results:
The link renders improperly in the browser.

Expected results:
That the ampersand would be rendered as an ampersand in the URL that the browser opens.

Does this happen every time?
As far as I've noticed. However, I have tested this only with Opera; I haven't tried it with any other browser. And if I right-click on "copy link location," it saves correctly.

Other information:
This is only a minor annoyance and easy to work around.

You are running 2.22? Which distro? Also see bug 506948.
Comment 2 Gerald 2008-10-16 17:55:11 UTC
I'm using Ubuntu 8,04.1 (installed with Wubi, if that makes any difference).

The Evolution version is 2.22.2.

And this is different than bug 506948, which involves copying links to the clipboard. I can copy links just fine (which is the simple workaround).

I tried to reproduce this bug, but it seems to be fixed on evolution 2.24 (I'm using 2.24.3)... can anyone do some tests to confirm it?

Bug 567697 refers to the same problem, claims to be 2.24 and has a very nice description, so marking this report as a duplicate.
