Description michael 2008-10-14 16:04:01 UTC
When I open few files in nautilus they opens in different windows. I want some setting or parameter like
 eog [--same-window]
to open images in one window.

As seen in #555008 the --new-instance switch already gets confused for that so the demand should be there. As I am currently aware there is no other application which has this feature.

The problem, which window to choose if multiple windows are open, can be solved by just opening the new image always in the same window. Since this function is likely to be only used on the command line this shouldn't pose any problems. (totem solves this by only having one window open at any time)

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
