Description Sebastien Bacher 2008-10-10 13:25:31 UTC
the bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/273525

"Binary package hint: gnome-applets

Starting with intrepid, the drive mount applet cannot mount luks-encrypted volumes.

To reproduce:
- insert encrypted usb stick
- cancel the password dialog
- click on the drivemount applet button for the drive and select the mount command from the menu

Result:
- nothing happens

Expected:
- password dialog

Confirmed here. A quick check shows that the applet neither calls gnome-mount (which it should), nor issues d-bus calls. It doesn't work for internal drives either."

The patch in bug 553996 should handle this case. It was applied to trunk 20 days ago, but I wouldn't exactly call it tested. I've applied it to 2.24 for the 2.24.1 release. Hopefully this fixes more problems than it causes.
