Last modified: 2008-10-12 14:11:25 UTC
Please describe the problem: Gimp 2.6 prints images huge on Windows XP, on an HP Color LaserJet5550 PS printer (and perhaps on other printers). Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a 100x100 pixel, 72 dpi square image containing a black circle 2. Print it on an HP Color LaserJet5550 PS printer or equivalent 3. Actual results: The resulting printed image will a black circle whose length covers the entire page Expected results: a 100x100 image Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
Same thing with my Canon. This morning, using the OLD Gimp, I created a classified ad, 1 inch wide, 2 inches high. It came out beautiful and printed just like it would look in the newspaper. This afternoon, I upgraded to the latest version of gimp. I opened my classified ad and clicked print... WHOA! It printed the ad across the entire page! One humongus ad so big it didnt even all fit on the page. I checked the settings and the image size and it was correct Print Image Settings width 1.400 inches height 1.997 inches The Preview looks correct. But hit PRINT, and its humoungus! (I'm wishing I didnt upgrade)

Are you saying that this used to work for you guys with GIMP 2.4 and now is broken with GIMP 2.6? Actually the changes in GTK+ that come with this upgrade were supposed to improve printing on Windows...
I vaguely remember that printing with Gimp 2.4 was not simple. You had to fiddle with the printing resolution, or something of that sort. I would have to reinstall Gimp 2.4 on Windows to provide more accurate information. As an aside, I haven't yet managed to print with Gimp 2.4 on Macosx, but that's another story.
