I would like another tab to enable to user to show/hide "Computer","Home","Network","Volumes" and "Trash" on the desktop.

The tab could be called "Desktop" or something similar and include an icon and a checkbox for each item above. 

Do you think the idea is good? It would be quite simple to implement, it's just a matter of getting/setting gconf-values in /apps/nautilus/desktop.
