Description Tobias Domhan 2008-10-05 10:33:31 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have 2 monitors here that run on different xscreens.
If I open nautilus via Places->somewhat on the second display then nautilus is opened on the wrong DISPLAY.
opening nautlius via the terminal though doesn't result in this bug.
This bug didn't exists in previous gnome versions.

Steps to reproduce:
1. go the the 2. DISPLAY
2. open nautilus via Places->somewhat

Actual results:
nautilus is openend on DISPLAY :0.0 instead of :0.1

Expected results:

Another bug report at launchpad for this same problem. The launchpad bugreport can be found from: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/310912
Comment 5 alex 2009-03-17 12:47:13 UTC
Same problem here:
Ubuntu: Intrepid(8.10)
kernel 2.6.27-13-generic
gnome-panel 2.24.1
nvidia-glx-180

Nautilus behaves properly if opened from the terminal. If opened from the Places menu on display 2, it opens on display 1.

	* src/nautilus-application.c: (open_window), (open_windows),
	(message_received_cb), (nautilus_application_startup):
	Spawn the Nautilus windows on the right scren instead of always
	using the default one (#555078).
Comment 8 Olav Vitters 2009-03-23 08:05:52 UTC
Is this also fixed in the 2.26 branch? If not, could it?
Comment 9 Cosimo Cecchi 2009-03-23 09:26:00 UTC
There's no 2.26 branch yet, we will use trunk for 2.26.1.
