Description Hendrik Maryns 2008-10-02 09:54:58 UTC
Re-introduce fonts:// really, but I suppose there must have been some reason to remove it, so update the documentation at http://library.gnome.org/admin/system-admin-guide/stable/fontconfig-1.html.en

Other information:
There is no suitable way to install fonts now (you need the command line, but isn’t Gnome about not needing to use the command line?)
Comment 1 Claude Paroz 2008-10-03 09:17:15 UTC
Isn't this a regression of GIO/Gvfs migration? We should first get confirmation from developers about this before updating the documentation.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2008-10-16 14:41:59 UTC
Also see bug 555215 about getting fonts:// back.
Comment 3 Paul Cutler 2010-01-27 03:55:01 UTC
According to the release notes for 2.30, users can install fonts by double clicking them in Nautilus:

gnome-font-viewer
Install fonts by double clicking them in nautilus

This was added in GNOME 2.28, but not documented
