typed wrong name, can't undo while renaming file

ctrl-z should work when somebody accidentally enters a wrong name while renaming a file. I was renaming a long file name and accidentally pressed x key on keyboard, as i didn't remember the name of file, it was lost. It was a library file for a program i was compiling. Other information:
