Description qqqqqqqqq9 2008-09-22 04:03:26 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Eye of GNOME 2.23.92
Renaming file.jpg to file.png causes eog to fail to open the file.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Rename any file.jpg to file.png
2. open it with "eog file.png"

Actual results:
Eog answers:

Could not load image 'karatefit_409e_1.png
Fatal error reading PNG image file: Not a PNG file

Expected results:
Eog should try to identify the file type as it does with any other unknown extension.

Does this happen every time?
Yes
