GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 553108
What's the difference between a group and a layout?
Last modified: 2010-04-16 09:45:47 UTC
The applet's right-click menu has a Groups menu item, which contains, umm, I think, the configured layouts? The "group" word is used at several other places, like: #: ../gkb-new/xmodmap/base.xml.in.h:48 ../gkb-new/xmodmap.sun/base.xml.in.h:43 (and in the xkeyboard-config package too), and I don't understand why is it not Layout, just like in the control center? Is there any significant difference? Based on it's functionality, I can't see any any reason to call it differenty, it creates only confusion. (btw, this issue was reported to me by a confused user :))
Hey Gabor :) Have you tried to raise this issue on the mailinglist? I feel it's more appropriate there.
No, I tought (and still think) this place is just fine :). Also, I'm reassigning to g-s-d, as this applet was recently moved, but the problem is still valid: #: ../plugins/keyboard/gsd-keyboard-xkb.c:395 msgid "_Groups" This is the only occurrence here, and we have one more in http://translationproject.org/PO-files/hu/xkeyboard-config-1.8.hu.po #: ../rules/base.xml.in.h:272 msgid "Group toggle on multiply/divide key"
First translation is fixed, thanks! About the other - could you please file a bug on freedesktop.org?
