GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 552900
Shift+f6 no longer moves focus in Pidgin effective version 2.4
Last modified: 2008-12-28 09:17:33 UTC
Please describe the problem: Running orca trunk, daily updated ubuntu ibex. Opening up pidgin, and joining orca irc, pressing f6 or shift+f6 does not allow us to jump between the frames. Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
Jon, that sounds very much like a Pidgin bug and not an Orca bug. (We don't do anything around F6/Shift+F6 other than respond to the resulting focus/focused: events by presenting the contents of the new location). If you have the time, it would be awesome if you could ascertain approximately when the breakage occurred and (assuming it is indeed a Pidgin problem) file the appropriate bug blocking this bug against that one. If not, I'll take a look at doing so this weekend. Thanks!
This is indeed a regression in Pidgin. I've opened an issue in their tracker: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/7148 Blocking this bug against that issue.
The blocking bug has been marked as fixed with a target for 2.5.3. (Current release is 2.5.2). They give users a zillion and one reasons why one should not pull from monotone. Fair enough, I'll wait for the release. :-) Moving from 'blocked' to 'to confirm' and assigning a target so that it is nearer the top of my bugzilla list.
Pidgin 2.5.3 is out. Both F6 and Shift+F6 move focus as expected. Closing this bug as NOTGNOME.
