GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 552529
when you unmount a volume, show your home
Last modified: 2010-08-29 08:43:35 UTC
Please describe the problem: Originally sent to launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/270963 When you unmount a removable volume from nautilus, it shows the contents of /media. Since for most users there is not much to be seen there, it would be more usefult to show their home instead. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
I think this should be marked FIXED now that we redirect to computer:// on unmount.
Yeah, I agree.
Redirecting to Computer does not seem such a good fix though: – It exposes the filesystem even more – It is very unlikely that you want to continue working in Computer because there normally is: – CD/DVD Drive (which you haven’t used in months) – Filesystem (…) – USB Drive (the one you probably just ejected) Redirecting to one’s home folder is a much more sensible and useful solution.
