Please describe the problem:
Dia can't open a file with special character in the filename. An error dialog describe a problem like "Erreur au chargement du diagramme .... type de fichier inconnu".

Steps to reproduce:
1.have a file like "base_de_données.dia" 
2.open the file. 
3.Error
4.rename the file like "base_de_donnees.dia"
5.successful !


Actual results:
Dia can't open a file with special character in the filename. An error dialog describe a problem like "Erreur au chargement du diagramme .... type de fichier inconnu".

Expected results:
I have renamed the file "base_de_données.dia" to "base_de_donnees.dia". 

Does this happen every time?

The bug report is too hard ! Please make a tools easiest ! (without inscription, validation, ....)

can't reproduce - i.e. it is working just fine - under win32 (XP, NTFS) and on Linux (gentoo, ext2, utf-8 locale). Please give us more information on the operating system yu are using as well as the file system.

I use Windows XP SP3 NTFS; I'm French ! And I use French Language ! Maybe it's a encoding problem.

such an encoding problem should be visible on a german xp as well, but it is not - at least not for me.

got reported and more thoroughly analyzed now as bug #570592, after all a problem in libxml2 reported as bug #574393
