GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 552313
Evolution Mail and Calendar: Evolution has been crash...
Last modified: 2008-09-16 05:26:13 UTC
Evolution has been crashing very frequently when I attempt to modify tasks directly in the task viewer (as opposed to in the properties page). Distribution: Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) Gnome Release: 2.22.3 2008-07-09 (Ubuntu) BugBuddy Version: 2.22.0
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it. Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!
Well, I started up evolution in gdb today and then walked away for a while. When I came back it was locked up. Program received signal SIGPIPE, Broken pipe. This is not at all a crash. Before you run in gdb give "handle SIGPIPE nostop" command at (gdb) prompt. Crash would show some thing like.. Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. Please try to reproduce the scenario mentioned by you in the report and attach the traces here. Also are you using local tasks or with any other backend?
Ok, here ya go. I'm using local tasks, local calendars and one Google calendar. btw, this is evolution v. 2.22.3.1 dpemmons@dale-ubuntu:~$ gdb evolution GNU gdb 6.8-debian Copyright (C) 2008 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
